This one is a bit late, sorry for that. There wasn&#8217;t much to miss though, december is traditionally a slow month. Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Are you having trouble keeping track of everything that&#8217;s going around in Azure? You&#8217;re not alone! In an effort to do so myself, I&#8217;m starting a monthly series called &#8220;News for developers&#8221; which is exactly that: a summary of all of the Azure flavored news specifically for <strong>software developers<\/strong>. Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.repsaj.nl\/index.php\/2020\/05\/azure-news-for-developers-the-readme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">readme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Azure<\/h2>\n<p>Here is a roll-up of all the Azure news which might relate to you as a developer. Note that all services mentioned are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Generally Available<\/span> (GA) so they can be used in production scenarios today. Exact availability of services might vary based on the Azure region you&#8217;re deploying to.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Azure\u00a0<strong>Digital Twins<\/strong> is now GA. This service, targeted mainly towards IoT solutions enables you to build a digital representative (clone) of its twin in the real world. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/azure-digital-twins-now-generally-available-create-iot-solutions-that-model-the-real-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Are you still evaluating Azure? Or for some other reason using a\u00a0<strong>free account<\/strong>? You might be interested to know that the following offerings now also have a <strong>free tier<\/strong>: Service Bus, VPN Gateway, Load Balancer, Container Registry, Archive Storage, as well as increased free amounts of Cosmos DB. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/five-more-free-services-now-available-in-the-azure-free-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>If your app uses\u00a0<strong>RabbitMQ\u00a0<\/strong>for messaging, know that Azure Functions now offers\u00a0<strong>RabbitMQ Bindings<\/strong> for Azure Functions. (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/azure-functions\/functions-bindings-rabbitmq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Visual Studio &amp; Azure DevOps<\/h2>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the news coming from the Visual Studio and Azure DevOps teams!<\/p>\n<p>For Visual Studio lovers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visual Studio 2019\u00a0<strong>version 16.8<\/strong>\u00a0is out there (<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/visualstudio\/visual-studio-2019-v16-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>) and the preview version is 16.9 preview 2. (<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/visualstudio\/visual-studio-2019-v16-9-preview-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Visual Studio 2019 for Mac\u00a0<strong>version 8.8<\/strong>\u00a0is now available (<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/visualstudio\/visual-studio-2019-for-mac-version-8-8-is-now-available\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And these updates were part of sprint 178 &amp; 179 in Azure DevOps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Removed items<\/strong> are no longer shown on the Work Items page! (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/devops\/release-notes\/2020\/sprint-178-update#removed-items-on-the-work-items-page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>The new\u00a0<strong>Azure Test Plans<\/strong> page has gone GA. (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/devops\/release-notes\/2020\/sprint-178-update#new-test-plans-page-general-availability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>There have been some UI tweaks to optimize space usage in different parts of the product. (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/devops\/release-notes\/2020\/sprint-179-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>YAML pipelines now support integration with\u00a0<strong>ServiceNow\u00a0<\/strong>change management.
