You&#8217;re not alone! In an effort to do so myself, I&#8217;m starting a monthly series called &#8220;News for developers&#8221; which is exactly that: a summary of all of the Azure flavored news specifically for <strong>software developers<\/strong>. Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.repsaj.nl\/index.php\/2020\/05\/azure-news-for-developers-the-readme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">readme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Azure<\/h2>\n<p>Here is a roll-up of all the Azure news which might relate to you as a developer. Note that all services mentioned are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Generally Available<\/span> (GA) so they can be used in production scenarios today. Exact availability of services might vary based on the Azure region you&#8217;re deploying to.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Azure\u00a0<strong>Health Bot<\/strong> helps healthcare organizations to quickly develop conversational healthcare experiences. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/azure-health-bot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>An Azure\u00a0<strong>Public IP\u00a0<\/strong>can now be upgraded from Basic to Standard SKU in place, while retaining the IP address. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/public-ip-sku-upgrade-generally-available\/\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>You can now manage your\u00a0<strong>CosmosDB\u00a0<\/strong>instances using the <strong>Az.CosmosDB PowerShell<\/strong> module. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/azure-cosmos-db-management-with-powershell-cmdlets-is-now-generally-available\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Also in\u00a0<strong>CosmosDB<\/strong>, you can now use the <strong>LIKE<\/strong> query keyword with the SQL API. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/like-keyword-support-now-generally-available-in-azure-cosmos-db\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>And lastly with\u00a0<strong>CosmosDB<\/strong>, there is now <strong>Availability Zone<\/strong> support with single-region write support. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/azure-cosmos-db-multiple-region-availability-zones-support-with-singleregion-write-now-generally-available\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>For detailed usage analysis of your web application,\u00a0<strong>Application Insights<\/strong> now supports automatic tracking of\u00a0<strong>click events<\/strong>. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/automatic-tracking-of-click-events-with-application-insights-is-now-available\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Azure Storage<\/strong> supports copying blobs over private endpoints. (<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/updates\/copy-blob-support-over-private-endpoints\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Visual Studio &amp; Azure DevOps<\/h2>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the news coming from the Visual Studio and Azure DevOps teams!<\/p>\n<p>For Visual Studio lovers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visual Studio 2019\u00a0<strong>version 16.8<\/strong>\u00a0is out there (<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/visualstudio\/visual-studio-2019-v16-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>) and the preview version is 16.9 preview 3. (<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/visualstudio\/visual-studio-2019-v16-9-preview-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Visual Studio 2019 for Mac\u00a0<strong>version 8.8<\/strong>\u00a0is now available (<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/visualstudio\/visual-studio-2019-for-mac-version-8-8-is-now-available\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And these updates were part of sprint 180 &amp; 181 in Azure DevOps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>YAML Pipelines now support the\u00a0<strong>Manual Validation<\/strong> task which can be used to pause a YAML pipeline mid-stage.
